In our June 2022 newsletter, we detailed that the best lawn care is about:
- an integrated approach;
- what we do;
- your cutting programme;
- additional annual beneficial treatments, like scarification, aeration and soil enrichment.
We believe we are a forward thinking, customer focused business offering a bespoke and specialist lawn care service in Nottingham and surrounding areas.
Lawns are great for the environment, pleasing to the eye and soft on your feet, we also understand that lawn care can be complicated.
In 2023 we will celebrate our 20 year anniversary. Over the summer we challenged ourselves, to see if we could improve our lawn programme, and whilst doing so:
- maintain what you expect from our annual programme of seasonal treatments;
- align our provision of macro and micro nutrients to match the needs of your grass to the changing weather patterns;
- minimizes cost increases for 2023.
Our update …
As our seasons change and lawncare rule books re written, we need to remain flexible, evolving our programme is key to ensure you get the best out of your lawn, whilst reducing the impact on the environment.
We have been working with the UK’s leading agronomists to develop a bespoke and effective programme to keep your lawn tiptop, including root development, improved disease recovery and all year feeding. As an independent business we are not tied to specific suppliers, this has enabled us to select products that best match our local conditions, rather than a one package fits all.
We believe we have achieved our goals, and actually gone a step further in creating “Leaf Health” and “Water Management” options.
In Autumn, we supplemented our traditional ‘Autumn Feed and Moss Control’ to include a late season weed control, hydration and leaf conditioner. The autumn feed will continue to meet the plants root development needs through Autumn into Winter. This will be backed up with our winter treatment focussing on moss control, root development and leaf hardening ready for winter.
Our environmental considerations
We continue to avoid the use of plastic coated fertilisers and our use of “better for the environment” weed controls. The programme combined with regular cutting will achieve a lawn of thick, lush, green grass that targets weeds and moss during the changing seasons, this can be further enhanced by the addition of annual Aeration and Soil Enrichment treatments for improved soil health.
Getting started with the new programme is easy…
Our “New” Spring treatment …
In Spring 2023, our visit will consist of:
- Spring Feed – will ensure your lawn is ready for spring and support root growth
- Moss Control;
- “New” Seaweed application – will stimulate beneficial hormones in the leaf that help regulate stress response;
- “Improved” leaf conditioner will help alleviate plant stress by improving leaf structure;
- Complimentary Weed Control – when weather conditions allow.
To do the above efficiently and tailored to your lawn, the spring treatment will be applied in a tank mix as a liquid treatment.
We continue to observe that customers lawns benefit from integrating one, often two, additional beneficial treatments into their annual lawn programme. We can see many agronomic benefits for including an annual aeration and our soil enrichment treatments to your programme. This will be called our “Emerald” programme.
