The team from Greener Gardens took a day out from completing important winter treatments, to spend the day working with Alex Vickers, turf consultant to Institute of Groundmanship.
The event, organised by John Draper, started ten years ago as an internal training day to develop staff skills, knowledge and confidence. The latest products and turf practices, which can be transferred from professional turf to your garden, was presented to a group of leading Independent lawn care operators from around the country.
Alex Vickers shared his professional experiences of soil structure and its related problems from premier league football pitches to cemetery’s!
“It begins with the soil”, demonstrated how understanding the soil is the building block for advising the correct lawn treatment programme. Not just to help with the symptoms but more importantly address the cause of problems like thatch, compaction and choosing the right feeding programme.
John Draper commented “we have been working with Alex since 2015, developing our soil nutrition programmes. Our ‘Biology Booster’ benefits natural soil aerators and thatch eaters, a practice embraced in professional turf. Meaning that the natural soil biology works on your lawn every day, with the benefit of helping your lawns natural eco system”.
The success of ‘Soil Improver’ introduced a few years ago, has made a positive step towards strengthening conditions below ground, with great customer feedback. Our ‘Biology Booster’, will take caring for the soil to the next level, backed up by evidence giving you the confidence that once applied it will keep working season long.
We understand the importance of good diet and exercise for our family health, let Greener Gardens unlock the secrets in your soil to achieve a lawn you can be proud of.
